"New Horizons for Religious Leaders and Youth Activists" Project (November 2019-April 2021).

  • Overseeing all aspects of implementing the project to ensure that it meets its key deliverables on time and within budget;
  • Managing all operations related to the project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting;
  • Working closely with community-based organizations (CBOs) to support and provide guidance in implementing the aims of the Project in host communities and ensure timely and quality implementation of community outreach;
  • Coordinating with partners, CBOs and field team on ensuring the process of the implementation of the project, and coordinating with local government and other stakeholders to conduct the site mapping and community screening;

  • “Expert Study: Freedom of Worship in Jordan during Covid-19 Crisis”. in partnership with The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), This project aimed to discuss and analyze the freedom of worship situation and its changes due to coronavirus crisis and lockdown in Jordan, with a specific focus on studying the proportionality of regulations in place and its effects on the spirit of religious freedom. Through my role, I covered the following tasks:
  • Assisting the Project Director and Project Coordinator in all tasks related to project implementation, including the development of research tools;
  • Participating in data collection in coordination with Project Director and Coordinator;
  • Conducting key informative interviews with target groups;
  • Providing transcriptions of interviews;
  • Providing notes and updates on different research activities;
  • Providing support for organizing visits and meetings;
  • Data entry; and performing other relevant duties as required.

- Drabzeen Human Development (DHD) 2019-2020:
(DHD Provides a forum for Jordanian youth to discuss human rights, democracy, and political participation, through café talks, debating tools, and online media including Social Media and video production.

- Debate Trainer/Moderator: Abshiri+ is a project implemented by DHD as a part of the Women Empowered for Leadership program. The project is launched in partnership with HIVOS and funded by The Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
- Advocacy campaigns Trainer: Youth 2020 project, implemented by DHD and in partnership with ActionAid Arab Region, to enhance the political and civic participation of youth.

Master Facilitator

Project Background: Young Mediterranean Voices (YMV) seeks to empower young women and men to enhance a culture of dialogue, to contribute to public policy and shape media discourses, and to create a shared understanding with peers across the Mediterranean on how to address issues of common concern to their communities.

  • Attending a 5-day master facilitation training in Tunisia from 17 to 21 February 2020;
  • Delivering a 4-day National Debate training in country for up to 20 peer facilitators.
  • Attending the national launching meeting with hubs and peer facilitators to agree on an action plan for 2020;
  • Following up and monitor the performance of hubs and peer facilitators during the cascade phase and ensure that a mid-year assessment is done for the peer facilitators;
  • Adjudicating debate competitions including intra-hub/inter-hub and National Debate Forum/Championship;
  • Preparing a standard PowerPoint presentation and agenda to be used by the peer facilitators during the cascade trainings;
  • Approving the peer facilitators’ session plan before every cascade training;
  • Preparing motions for the debaters during the cascade trainings and other competitions;
  • Adapting the debate curriculum tool for debaters to be used throughout the cascade training and/or the inter-debate competition;
  • Reporting in English to the British Council in country about the performance of peer facilitators and hubs using templates provided by the British Council.

  • Attending a 3-day National Debate training in-country which will include intensive training in the YMV Debate Curriculum and Facilitation Techniques and additional home/online learning;
  • Attending the national launching meeting with hubs to develop a cascade action plan;
  • Delivering the debate training during the cascade phase to debate clubs organised by Hub organisations;
  • Following up and monitor debaters in debate clubs during practice and before competitions;
  • Preparing motions for the debaters during the cascade trainings and other competitions;
  • Reporting to Master Facilitators on debaters performance, the number of debaters, and motions used;
  • Selecting and recommend debaters during the qualification stage leading to the final competition.

Adjudicator:

  • Preparing motions for the debaters for the Intra-hub/inter-hub and National Debate Forum;
  • Adjudicating debate competitions including the intra and inter-hub competitions in addition to the National Debate Forum;
  • Providing results of the debating teams, as part of the competitive activity based on the British Council adjudication template by rating each speech and decide which team won the debate;
  • Providing guidance and constructive criticism to the speakers to help them to improve and grow in confidence;
  • Submitting the adjudication notes and grades of each debate to the British Council for documentation;
  • Discussing the crucial issues in the debate in a manner that would cover the brief summary of points of both sides, and the explanation on how one team had an advantage over the other.
