Zakariya Al Hassanat

I started by internal medicine residency program in KAUH at July 2020.

During this year, I encountered new type of patient due to COVID 19 pandemic. On the other hand, it was a beneficial experience in dealing with different type of oxygen therapy especially noninvasive ventilation and mechanical ventilation.

Also, I have multiple rotation in different medical specialties because our hospital is a tertiary hospital with diversity specialties that serve the north part of Jordan.

One example is my rotation in oncology department where I learned a huge amount of information about different chemotherapy protocols with indications and side effects of them. Also, I developed a knowledge about radiotherapy since there is a special radiotherapy section in our hospital. adding to this the experience in dealing with patient, breaking bad news and dealing with end life support for certain patients.

Also, I developed a lot of experience in different department, like:

1- monitoring of patient pre and post cardiac catheterization.

2- preparing patient for upper and lower endoscopy and follow them post endoscopy.

3- dealing with dialysis patient

4- dealing with patient in outpatient clinics, ER department and ICU.

5- daily follow up of inhospitalized patient

Because our hospital is a university hospital, I contributed in teaching and giving rotations to medical students.

adding to this, the experience in team working with my colleague resident and nursing staff and the experience with dealing with different types of patient.
