Job Description / Role

I've performed as the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Engineer on "Supervision Services for Rehabilitation and Upgrading of the Desert Road from Naqab to Humaima (Sec 1 & 2)". My main duties extended to provide technical HSE input; support the project team to maintain HSE management systems and procedures according to ISO standards; review and approve the Contractors HSE plans and procedures; monitor the safety of the works and the safety of the traffic diversions; and ensure project compliance with all applicable HSE standards and legislations.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Project's Traffic Management Plan (TMP).
• Advise on potential hazards at work zone.
• Provide the project with health and safety expertise and ensure that activities are carried-out in a safe manner and with minimal environmental impact.
• Follow-up on the implementation of the project's HSE plans and procedures including measures to prevent erosion, manage stormwater runoff, and protect natural habitats.
• Check proper maintenance, calibration and operation of all safety equipment.
• Check and ensure that all equipment has been tested by third parties as required and all operators have the proper permits.
• Check the site security, fire, First Aid and welfare facilities and ensure that all procedures appropriate to the Works are provided and properly maintained.
• Carry-out and record regular site HSE audits and inspections.
• Oversee the implementation of HSE training program on site.
• Investigate all accidents and dangerous occurrences, and act as a part of any emergency response team in the event of an accident.
• Review and develop the PTW procedures.
• Coordinate with the supervision team on all activities undertaken by Contractors with respect to safety requirements, especially for traffic management, deep excavation, movement of equipment's, etc., and report any deficiency for corrective action to ensure a holistic approach to safety.
• Convene, participate and chair all safety related meetings as directed by dar.
• Review the Contractors corrective action plans and produce dar's OHSE observation reports to be submitted to the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH).
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies and local communities to ensure compliance and to address any concerns they may have.

Job Description/ Role

I've performed as the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Engineer on Trigon's USAID-funded Construction Management for JSEP and SKEP, which has managed the construction of 25 new schools, 70 school expansion projects, and 50 sports activity facilities. My main duties extended to carry-out HSE field trips and preparing related reports; develop HSE systems, plans, procedures, lessons learned, tips, alerts, workshops, quizzes, and success stories; and carry-out periodic HSE exercises with program stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as a focal point for Construction Management Task Order (CMTO) and for USAID-funded Jordan school projects' health, safety and environmental issues, provide technical HSE support and input, and ensure compliance of Construction Contractors with USAID regulations, including Environmental Guidelines.
• Ensure that activities are carried out in a safe manner and with minimal environmental impact and guarantee compliance with international standards and legislation set by OSHA.
• Lead and manage the HSE observation field trip system according to applicable USAID Operational HSE Checklist and Procedure, report on findings and recommend improvements.

• Ensure Contractors' compliance with related local laws, regulations, and standards.
• Advise on potential hazards and risks associated with the projects, and assist Contractors in developing strategies to mitigate or eliminate them.
• Oversee HSE training and education to projects personnel, including Contractors and Subcontractors, to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities and obligations under their HSE plans.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to site assessment studies and project risk assessments.
• Develope and implement all HSE plans and procedures for the project in accordance with local applicable requirements and regulations, and execute other EHS duties as assigned by employer representative (AECOM).
• Supervise and/or perform daily monitoring of work practices of Subcontractors.

Job Description / Role

I've performed as the Research Assistant on Badia Restoration Program (BRP) that had been implemented by the Ministry of Environment, represented by Environmental Compensation Program. The main objective of this program was to restore degraded ecosystems in the Jordan Badia - 16 wells were rehabilitated, in cooperation with Water Authority, to provide water for communities in the northern, middle and southern Badia. Prior to BRP implementation, water quality in these wells was marginal with high levels of salinity and pollutants. Rehabilitation through BRP eliminated these problems and improved the quality of water to the Jordanian standards. After the rehabilitation and operation of these wells, water was pumped at a rate of one thousand cubic meters per hour of potable water, benefiting about 140 thousand inhabitants of the Badia near the wells.

• Participate in some aspects of remote sensing (passive and active) and GIS in land resources management, climate change and desertification.

Job Description / Role

I've performed as the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Engineer / Level 2 on Project Management Consultancy (PMC) Services for Zarqa Water and Wastewater Networks Project, a $275 million grant program to Jordan from the US Government's Millennium Challenge Corporation. The program was one of the largest water and wastewater projects in Jordan's history. The goal of this program was to improve water supply and sanitation services in the Zarqa Governorate. The program included the rehabilitation and expansion of water and wastewater networks, the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant, and the establishment of a new billing and customer service system. The aim was to increase access to safe drinking water and sanitation services for the local population and improve the overall efficiency of the water supply system. The program was completed in 2015 and was part of a larger MCC compact with Jordan.

• Carry-out regular HSE audits and inspections to to the worksites throughout Zarqa Governorate to observe HSE, report on findings and recommend improvements.
