• The system was built using a legacy framework with tons of redundancy in code and security conflicts as well as a limited capacity to serve peak hours of traffic

Achievements:

• Optimizing SEO and getting growth in usage (service and traffic) since I joined Altibbi is about 5X
• Revamp all low-quality systems using robust architecture and up-to-date framework and by following a clear high level design architecture
• Introducing new channels and vendors for telemedicine, like live chat with doctors
• Localize teleconferencing services to gain better quality and less cost
• Introduce Data Science and Machine learning into work force and build ML roadmap
• Introducing OKRs and OGSM as strategic management framework and popularize it across the company in all departments

As of resignation of our VP of product in Altibbi in late 2018, and as we were not be able to find the highly skilled replacement to manage this position, top management in the company delegated this position (VP of product) to me, and I was responsible to:

• Developing and implementing the overall product strategy

• Creating and introducing the needed processes to follow the best practices in managing the business and team.

About Unifonic:

• Unifonic is a Cloud Communication company that serves B2B for notification and marketing campaigns with maximum capacity of 15 SMS/Seconds and 1.5M SMS/Day
• The system was suffering from too much down-time at any sudden need or traffic from Unifonic’s clients

Achievements:

• Setup a strategic framework for managing the technical teams (Backend, Frontend, Infrastructure and System Administration, Quality Control, and Technical Support)
• The platform used to suffer from delay and heavy load upon sending small campaigns due to bad implementation and infrastructure, bad logic, and bad database structure
• I focused on: DB restructure, code-rebuild using architectural design, replace SMS gateways with Kannel (instead of the in-house gateway which was full of bugs), Optimizing the servers to be horizontal scalable, which stabilized the system and reduced the cost of hosting to 60% of the previous cost
• By late 2016, the platform can handle 15M messages per day without having any trouble (which is about 12 times when I started the optimization of the system)
• The platform was able to send maximum 15 SMS per second, and after a lot of optimizations, tuning and tweaks, the system was able to send 150,000 SMS per second in average and the only limitation became the operator capacity

About Oilwell7:
Oilwell7 is a Saudi company working in online recruitment and had two portals (http://taqatgrads.org.sa and http://oilwell7.com) which are used to suffer from a tremendous amount of bugs and bad performance due to weak development and very bad infrastructure management
Achievements:

• Setup a regional office in Jordan
• Build the team
• Researched new technologies and chose best options for company priorities and cost-effectiveness.
• Devised and wrote corporate technology procedures, modifying security policies for each worker level.
• Configured and implemented IT initiatives to produce measurable business value.
• Developed and led large-scale technology initiatives for long-term strategic plans and solutions.
• Revamp the sites from Ruby on Rails into php5 (Yii Framework) as a life rescue for those two sites. This has been done within 45 days of hard work. Then another revamp has been done to manage more functionalities and usability for oilwell7.com with a responsive design.
• Implementing a PDF caching system to allow companies to download and create profiles for hundreds of CVs in a few seconds.
• Implementing Solr Search for both sites with multiple filters functionalities
• Managing Databases and replications and backup policies
• Administering all of OW7 and Taqatgrads Servers to manage their health and keeping them optimized for our portals

About Albawaba Middle East:

• Albawaba is an international news agency with about 7K unique visitors on average on a daily basis

Achievements:

• I joined Altibbi as a senior web developer, then evolved into DBA, System Admin and then CTO in March 2012
• Improved site stability, performance and availability
• The site used to suffer from regular crashes
• Implemented a redundant load balancer using Nginx load balancer and redundant Apache/Nginx web servers and load-balancer for databases as well
• Enhanced Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• This resulted in increasing page views and traffic by more than 500%
• Getting Albawaba recognized as NEWS Site in Google News
• Optimized site Content Development System (CMS) using Drupal and PHP
• Introduced Search projects (including Natural Language Processing like entity extraction using Open Calais) to improve recall of site content and to increase time on site and page views by adding search facets. This has been done using Apache Lucene/Solr
• Created more than 3000 customized web crawlers to get content from publishers. This was done using Yahoo! YQL technology and custom crawling scripts
• Managed a team to handle new content (for Syndigate.info project)

• I was the first developer in Tahadi, and my main responsibility was to build its portal from A to Z and then to manage the development team to get a very stable and bug free portal
• Building the financial system and implementing integration with many payment gateways like Paypal, Creditcard, Onecard, fanapay, cashu, and SMS payment gateways like ATLAS and MT2

About RSS/CMC:

Cooperative Monitoring Center (CMC) is one of Royal Scientific Society (RSS) centers, it is a semi-governmental institution specialized in training, and hosting and managing workshops.

Achievements:

• I have built the websites and internal systems like financial system and customized HR
• Managing the servers for the center, as I was the only developer in the center.
